[VIDEO] Scaling up & Replicating Projects: Multiplying the Benefits of Adaptation Funding
Watch short version here.
The growing awareness of climate adaptation has brought greater attention to the work of the Adaptation Fund, especially to those projects that have the potential to be scaled up on a nationwide and regional basis; and those that can be replicated in other countries where the conditions are similar and the need is urgent.
The Adaptation Fund’s projects are often the very first concrete adaptation projects implemented, and they serve as valuable models that can be scaled up or replicated. The Adaptation Fund’s focus on local ownership of projects, institutional capacity building, and knowledge sharing supports scaling up or replicating of projects. The Fund has also instituted a new Project Scale-Up Grants Fund that is helping its implementing partners develop expanded proposals based on their initial experience of designing and implementing a successful Adaptation Fund project.
