When addressing changing climates and building resilience, it’s critical to act at the local level. CARE’s Adaptation Learning Program (ALP) has developed this brief about how community based adaptation is a valuable and essential component of the vision for resilience across Africa. It draws on the lessons learnt by ALP over the last four years across four countries and explains ALP’s perspective on what "community based adaptation" is and how it can be implemented using some practical approaches that can be adopted and scaled up.
