When Kyoto Protocol countries decided at COP23 that the Adaptation Fund “shall serve” the Paris Agreement (PA), it recognized wide recognition and demand for AF’s concrete, tailored adaptation actions to the most vulnerable and its pioneering Direct Access modality that builds national capacities.

With CMA decisions expected at COP24, AF is helping to operationalize the PA. Its new 5-year strategy aligned with the PA & UN Sustainable Development Goals accelerates action, empowers the vulnerable, promotes gender-responsiveness, fosters innovation and collaboration.

AF leaders, country implementers, governments and CSOs provide concrete examples.
