The Adaptation Fund project in Senegal “Reducing vulnerability and building resilience of vulnerable communities in the Saloum Islands (Dionewar)” has been launched
The Government of Senegal has officially launched the project “Reducing vulnerability and building resilience of vulnerable communities in the Saloum Islands (Dionewar)”.
The project, endowed with US$ 1.3 million in grant funding from the Adaptation Fund, is the second in Senegal to be financed through the Fund’s pioneering Direct Access modality. It aims to strengthen the resilience of communities of Dionewar island, which is faced with climate change hazards such as degradation of mangroves and increased saltwater intrusions.
