Antigua & Barbuda: Adapting to Flood, Extreme Weather & Sea Rise
A project in Antigua and Barbuda funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by its national implementing partner in the country under Direct Access, the Department of Environment, is helping the most vulnerable communities within the small island developing state adapt to flooding, intense storms, and drought by restoring natural drainage systems, climate proofing vulnerable residents’ homes through an innovate low-interest revolving loan program, and establishing hurricane-proof community storm shelters through grants to some of the country’s most impoverished neighborhoods that are highly vulnerable to climate change.
